Happily Ever After?
THE PROFILE OF THE MODERN PRINCESS
This series was my final thesis for my photography minor from LMU. Each photo takes a modern look at the classic Disney Princess and Disney Heroine. With this photo project, the animated stories that inspired young girls over the past 75 years are revisited to discover what they might represent in our culture today. Each princess deals with a deeper issue which women in society face.
Their characters represent war, drug use, alcoholism, vanity, homelessness, sexuality, materialism, pollution, and self image disorder. Let these modern princesses challenge you to look beyond the happily ever after.
